GOVERNMENT PRICES OVERSIGHT (MAIB PREMIUMS) AMENDMENT ORDER (NO. 2) 2008 (S.R. 2008, NO. 101) - REG 4

Clause 3 amended (Interpretation)
Clause 3(1) of the Principal Order is amended by omitting the definition of pensioner and substituting the following definition:
pensioner means a person –
(a) who is in receipt of one of the following pensions, allowances or supplements payable under the Social Security Act 1991 of the Commonwealth:
(i) an age pension;
(ii) a carer payment;
(iii) a disability support pension;
(iv) a widow B pension;
(v) a wife pension;
(vi) a mature age allowance;
(vii) a mature age partner allowance;
(viii) a newstart allowance;
(ix) a widow allowance;
(x) a parenting payment (single);
(xi) a disability wage supplement; or
(b) who is in receipt of one of the following pensions under the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986 of the Commonwealth:
(i) a disability pension;
(ii) a totally and permanently incapacitated pension;
(iii) a war widow or widower's pension;
(iv) a service pension;
(v) a partner's service pension or carer's pension; or
(c) who is the holder of a health care card issued in accordance with the Social Security Act 1991 of the Commonwealth;

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order)

This order retrospectively amends the Government Prices Oversight (MAIB Premiums) Order 2006 by extending the concession in MAIB premiums currently available to pensioners to the holders of certain health care cards.
