OCCUPATIONAL LICENSING (ELECTRICAL WORK) REGULATIONS 2008 (S.R. 2008, NO. 171) - REG 20
Restrictions on energising of electrical work
(1) Unless an authorised officer otherwise directs, a person must not
energise any electrical work that is (a) of high voltage; or
(b)
in a hazardous area.
Penalty: Level 7.
(2) Subregulation (1) does not apply (a) in a case where an electricity entity is performing work on its own electrical infrastructure; or
(b) where the electrical work performed involves, in the course of carrying out repairs, the replacement of a component part with another component part performing substantially the same function.
(3) A person who energises any electrical work, otherwise than for the
purposes of testing, must (a) record the electrical work as
provided by these regulations; and
(b) notify the electrical work as provided
by these regulations.
Penalty: Level 8.
