OCCUPATIONAL LICENSING (ELECTRICAL WORK) REGULATIONS 2008 (S.R. 2008, NO. 171) - REG 33

Authority of transitional licences for cable jointing work
(1)  In the case of a person performing cable jointing work who, immediately before the commencement day, held –
(a) a certificate, certifying that he or she was qualified to perform cable jointing work, issued by a training provider registered with a registered training organisation in Tasmania or an equivalent body in a reciprocating jurisdiction; or
(b) an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Certificate III qualification within the Training Package relevant to the performance of cable jointing work issued by a registered training organisation or an equivalent body in a reciprocating jurisdiction –
the transitional licence authorises him or her to perform cable jointing work but may be subject to any conditions stated in the licence which, in the opinion of the Administrator, are appropriate having regard to the limitations and restrictions referred to in regulation 31(1) .
(2)  The transitional licence –
(a) confers the same authority as an Electrical Work Licence – Cable Jointer, as described in the Determination; and
(b) has effect for a period beginning 3 months after the commencement day and ending on such day not later than 15 months after the commencement day as the Administrator may determine and notify to the applicant –
and the application of the Act extends to the transitional licence accordingly.
