SUPREME COURT RULES 2000 (S.R. 2000, NO. 8) - REG 622
Procedure on reference
(1) If a matter is referred to conveyancing counsel, the registrar is
to (a) endorse a copy of the order by which the reference was made
with a note specifying the name of the conveyancing counsel; and
(b) provide
the copy to the party prosecuting the order.
(2) A copy of the endorsed order is sufficient authority for the
conveyancing counsel to proceed with the matter referred.
(3) If any conveyancing counsel to whom the business is offered declines
the reference, the business is to be offered to the other conveyancing counsel
successively, according to seniority, until one of them accepts.
(4) Notwithstanding subrule (3) , the Court or a judge may refer a
matter to a particular conveyancing counsel.
