(1) If any property is sold under an order made under rule 748 and judgment is given for the Attorney-General, the proceeds of sale are to be paid and applied according to law in the same manner as the property seized or taken, or the proceeds of sale, would have been applied if no sale had been ordered.(2) If any property is sold under rule 748 and a writ is not filed within the time prescribed by law, or a writ is filed but judgment is given for the claimant, the claimant, at his or her election, is entitled to judgment (a) for the amount of the appraised value of the property; or(b) for the proceeds of sale; and(c) in either case, for any further sum by way of compensation for the loss sustained by reason of the seizure or taking as the Court or judge thinks just.
