ROADS AND ROAD SAFETY LEGISLATION AMENDMENT ACT 2024 (NO. 46 OF 2024) - SECT 29

    (1)     In section 21(1A) of the Road Safety Act 1986 , for "the licence in his or her possession" substitute "the probationary driver licence document in the person's possession".

    (2)     After section 21(1A) of the Road Safety Act 1986 insert —

    "(1B)     For the purposes of subsection (1A), a person has a digital driver licence document in the person's possession if the person has in the person's possession an electronic device—

        (a)     to which the digital driver licence document has been delivered using the software application approved under section 23AA; and

        (b)     that is capable of displaying the person's current digital driver licence document.".
