ALPINE RESORTS (MANAGEMENT) REGULATIONS 2020 (SR NO 128 OF 2020) - REG 1

The objective of these Regulations is to provide for the protection, management and control of alpine resorts by—

        (a)     prohibiting access to areas of alpine resorts or parts of alpine resorts by persons and vehicles; and

        (b)     setting aside areas in alpine resorts for public use for—

              (i)     the use and parking of vehicles; and

              (ii)     camping; and

              (iii)     cross country skiing; and

              (iv)     skiing and snowboarding; and

              (v)     the use of snowplay equipment; and

              (vi)     the landing of aircraft; and

              (vii)     riding and leading horses; and

        (c)     regulating the use, driving and parking of vehicles in alpine resorts; and

        (d)     prescribing offences for—

              (i)     the protection of flora and fauna and water supply catchments in alpine resorts; and

              (ii)     regulating the behaviour of persons in alpine resorts; and

        (e)     prescribing fees for—

              (i)     entry into alpine resorts; and

              (ii)     access and use of areas set aside for public use; and

        (f)     prescribing other matters to give effect to the Alpine Resorts (Management) Act 1997 ; and

        (g)     preserving traditional owner rights and customs where a traditional owner group entity has an agreement under Part 6 of the Traditional Owner Settlement Act 2010 .
