OFFSHORE PETROLEUM AND GREENHOUSE GAS STORAGE REGULATIONS 2011 (SR NO 153 OF 2011) - REG 5

The objects of this Chapter are to ensure that any petroleum activity or greenhouse gas activity carried out in the offshore area is—

        (a)     carried out in a manner consistent with the principles of ecologically sustainable development; and

        (b)     carried out in accordance with an environment plan that has—

              (i)     appropriate environmental performance objectives and standards; and

              (ii)     measurement criteria for determining whether the objectives and standards have been met.
