ROAD SAFETY (VEHICLES) (HYBRID VEHICLES AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2007 (SR NO 14 OF 2007) - REG 5

    (1)     In Schedule 8 to the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 1999—

        (a)                                         in the heading to Part 11 omit "LPG";

        (b)     in the Note at the foot of the heading to Part 11, for "that vehicles with LPG installed can be identified as LPG-powered vehicles" substitute "LPG-powered vehicles and hybrid vehicles can be identified".

    (2)     After clause 154 of Schedule 8 to the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 1999 insert —

        "154A     Hybrid vehicles

A hybrid vehicle must have fixed conspicuously to the front and rear number plates a label that is—

        (a)         made of durable material;

        (b)     at least 25 millimetres wide and 25 millimetres high;

        (c)     mounted as a diamond;

        (d)     reflective green;

        (e)     marked "HYBRID"     in capital letters at least 6 millimetres high.".
