Removal of vehicles

20. Removal of vehicles



(1) If a State road authority removes a vehicle in accordance with clause 4 or
5 of Schedule 4 to the Act, the road authority must serve a notice by post on
the registered operator of the vehicle informing the registered operator of
the vehicle that the State road authority has removed the vehicle.

(2) A notice under sub-regulation (1) may include-

   (a)  a notice for the purposes of clause 4(2) of Schedule 4 to the Act; and

   (b)  any other information that the State road authority considers
        appropriate.

Note: A fee may be charged for removing an unregistered or abandoned vehicle
in certain circumstances-see clause 4 of Schedule 4 to the Act.
