The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows: page 1 Railway (METRONET) Amendment Bill 2022 s. 1 1 1. Short title 2 This is the Railway (METRONET) Amendment Act 2022. 3 2. Commencement 4 This Act comes into operation on the day on which it receives 5 the Royal Assent. 6 3. Act amended 7 This Act amends the Railway (METRONET) Act 2018. 8 4. Long title amended 9 (1) In the long title in the 3rd bullet point delete "Line)," and insert: 10 11 Line); and 12 13 (2) In the long title after the 3rd bullet point insert: 14 15 • a railway from Claisebrook Station to Mundijong 16 (known as the Armadale Line and Byford Rail 17 Extension), 18 19 5. Section 4B inserted 20 At the end of Part 2 insert: 21 22 4B. Authority to construct Armadale Line and Byford 23 Rail Extension 24 A railway, with all necessary, proper and usual works 25 and facilities in connection with the railway, may be page 2 Railway (METRONET) Amendment Bill 2022 s. 6 1 constructed and maintained along the line described in 2 Schedule 4. 3 4 6. Schedule 4 inserted 5 After Schedule 3 insert: 6 7 Schedule 4 -- Line of Armadale Line and Byford Rail 8 Extension 9 [s. 4B] 10 The line of the railway commences at a point 0 km at Claisebrook 11 Station and proceeds along the Armadale Line railway in a generally 12 south easterly direction for a distance of 20.9 km to a point, near Map 13 Grid of Australia 1994 coordinates 406622 East and 6450046 North, 14 adjacent to the intersection of Albany Highway and Ferres Drive, 15 Gosnells, and then in a generally southerly direction for a distance of 16 21.2 km to a point, near Map Grid of Australia 1994 coordinates 17 405183 East and 6429246 North, that is approximately 110 m south of 18 the intersection of Bishop Road and Soldiers Road, Mundijong, prior 19 to the junction with the Kwinana-Mundijong Freight Railway. 20 The course to be taken by the railway is shown as a red line on Public 21 Transport Authority drawing no. 00-C-00-0036 Rev A. 22
