(1) A document may be
served on a co-operative by post or by leaving it at the registered office of
the co-operative with a person who appears to be 16 years of age or more.
(2) A document may be
served on a foreign co-operative —
(a) by
post; or
(b) by
leaving it with a person who appears to be 16 years of age or more and is
at a place where the foreign co-operative carries on business in this State;
or
(c) by
leaving it at the registered office in this State of the foreign co-operative
registered under Part 14.
(3) For the purpose of
serving a document under this section by post, the document is properly
addressed if —
(a) in
the case of a co-operative, it is addressed to the registered office of the
co-operative; or
(b) in
the case of a foreign co-operative, it is addressed to a place in this State
where the foreign co-operative carries on business or to the registered office
of the foreign co-operative in its place of registration, incorporation or
formation.
(4) This section does
not affect the operation of any provision of a law or of the rules of a court
authorising a document to be served on a co-operative or a foreign
co-operative in another way.
