(1) When a
property-tracking document is given to the DPP or a police officer
in accordance with a direction under section 63(2)(a), the DPP or
police officer may do any or all of the following —
(a)
inspect the document;
(b) take
extracts from the document;
(c) make
copies of the document;
(d)
retain the document for as long as its retention is reasonably required for
the purposes of this Act.
(2) If the DPP or
police officer retains the property-tracking document, the DPP or
police officer must, on the request of the person required by the order to
produce the document —
(a)
permit the person to inspect the document, take extracts from it or make
copies of it; or
(b) give
the person a copy of the document certified by the DPP or police officer in
writing to be a true copy of the document.
(3) When a
property-tracking document is made available to the DPP or a police officer
for inspection in accordance with a direction under section 63(2)(b) , the
DPP or police officer may do any one or more of the following —
(a)
inspect the document;
(b) take
extracts from the document;
(c) make
copies of the document.
