(1) Provisional
payments in respect of medical and health expenses compensation are to be
made for the period that begins on the day on which the worker’s injury
occurred and ends on the earliest of the following days —
(a) the
day on which the insurer or self-insurer gives a liability decision notice for
the claim to the worker;
(b) the
day on which the insurer or self-insurer is taken under section 29(3) to
accept that the employer is liable to compensate the worker for the injury.
(2) The total amount
of provisional payments in respect of medical and health expenses compensation
is limited to 5% of the medical and health expenses general limit amount
applying on the day the last of those provisional payments is made.
