(1) Compensation (
medical and health expenses compensation ) is payable under this Division in
the form of payment of the amount of reasonable medical and health expenses
incurred or to be incurred by a worker as a result of the worker’s
injury.
(2) An
employer’s obligation to pay medical and health expenses compensation
arises when the insurer or self-insurer accepts (or is taken to have
accepted) or an arbitrator determines that the employer is liable to
compensate the worker for the injury.
(3) An
employer’s liability for medical and health expenses compensation
applies to medical and health expenses incurred after the worker’s
injury occurs and extends to medical and health expenses incurred before the
employer’s obligation to pay medical and health expenses compensation
arises.
